Nancy O'Dell's first job in the broadcast industry was as a reporter/anchor for WPDE-TV Myrtle Beach South Carolina. She worked later as a morning news anchor for WCBD TV and also as a crime reporter. O'Dell's articles in Charleston concerning how Charleston police dealt with DUI cases with care, led to an inquiry by State Law Enforcement Division. The inquiry led to a stronger instruction for the state's authorities. In the year 2000, The Associated Press honored Ms. O'Dell with its Best Report of the Years Award across all South Carolina Media. O'Dell's experience in Charleston has led to her serving as a co-anchor, reporter as well as NBC's Miami WTVJ-TV. Before joining Access Hollywood she was a weekday co-anchor as well as the NBC weekend co-anchor.
